Are all Canon ink cartridges the same?
An interesting question. And if you know nothing about ink cartridges, a difficult one to answer. So let’s change the question. Are all Ford cars the same? You know the answer to that one.
You might get away with the wrong cartridge, but it is far better to use the right cartridge in the right machine. But don’t worry - at inkshop.ie we are here to help you through the maze. Read on to find out the difference between Canon XL v XXL cartridges, or which cartridges are right for your specific Canon printer model!
How much are Canon ink cartridges?
Like the previous question, there is a huge variety in the answer. Some inks can be as cheap as €20, while others go to ten times that price. But Canon is a premium brand, and using genuine Canon ink means you won’t have to replace your cartridges so often. They will protect your printer from internal damage, and each print will be crystal clear with vibrant colours.
Are Canon XL cartridges worth it?
They are more expensive, so that’s a good question. Why pay more? Because it is worth it.
The first thing to understand is that XL cartridges are not actually bigger than regular cartridges. They are exactly the same size, so fit into your printer with no extra effort. The difference is that there is more ink in the XL cartridges. Ink is expensive, so the XL cartridges cost more. But on the upside, you can print more pages at a better rate per page.
So if you print frequently, or want to save money in the long term, XL makes sense.
What is the difference between Canon XL and XXL ink cartridges?
Like the difference between the regular and the XL cartridges, the difference between XL and XXL is all on the inside. From the outside the cartridges look identical. But the XXL is packed with ink, making it even more economical per page, even though it is more expensive to buy initially.
Although every cartridge is different, this example should make it clear. The PG-540 cartridge prints about 180 pages. Upgrade to the PG-540XL, and you more than three times this to about 600 pages.
Will Canon XL inks fit into my printer?
You need have no fears on that score - the XL and XXL refer to the amount of ink in the cartridge, not the size of the cartridge. So you can fit them into your printer just as easily as the regular cartridges. It’s just you’ll have to do the fitting far less often!
How can I recycle Canon ink cartridges?
We are more concerned than ever with protecting the environment and doing our bit to forge a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren. The good news is that ink cartridges can be recycled and reused. But not if you toss them in the bin.
